Please see response that we received from the measure developer:
“In version 1 we tested versions of these items to instruct people to consider personal lubricants when they answer, but these items failed pretty miserably in cognitive interviews. So with that caveat, if people are adding their own instructions, I’d say try as they are suggesting – don’t consider lubricants when they answer (but also they should note this change when they describe what they did).”

When administering the PROMIS Vaginal Lubrication for Sexual Activity items, is it recommended to instruct respondents to select a response based only on their experience of their body's inherent lubrication and NOT including experience with personal lubricant products? I did not see this addressed in the PROMIS Sexual Function and Satisfaction Manual. Thank you
