  • Universal (generic), not specific to a given disease or health condition.
  • Available in multiple languages.

How to Obtain PROMIS Global Mental Health

Assessment Center API
  • The PROMIS Global Mental Health is included in the Assessment Center API.
  • It is part of the PROMIS Scale/Battery v1.2 – Global Health Measure. It is named PROMIS Global Mental Health Items.
  • It includes 4 items (questions) and produces a PROMIS Global Mental Health T-score.
  • Option 1
    • Administer the full 10-item PROMIS Scale v1.2 – Global Health measure. It will produce two T-scores: PROMIS Global Mental Health and PROMIS Global Physical Health. CMS uses the PROMIS Global Mental Health item responses and T-score.
  • Option 2
    • Administer only the 4-item PROMIS Global Mental Health measure. It is not searchable; consequently, you will need to ask your support team or developer to make Form OID 68627F44-CA13-4183-8877-160782D7DB83 available. No customization is needed.
Other Digital Administration
  • Integration of PROMIS Global Mental Health in an electronic or digital administration platform requires permission from HealthMeasures.

Epic PROMIS CAT Application
  • The PROMIS Global Mental Health measure is part of the 10-item PROMIS Scale v1.2 – Global Health measure. The PROMIS Scale v1.2 – Global Health measure is included in the Epic PROMIS CAT Application.
  • Option 1
    • Administer the full 10-item PROMIS Scale v1.2 – Global Health measure. It will produce two T-scores: PROMIS Global Mental Health and PROMIS Global Physical Health. CMS uses the PROMIS Global Mental Health item responses and T-score.
  • Option 2
    • Work with your organization’s MyChart analysts to create a new 4-item questionnaire record named PROMIS Global Mental Health.
    • Add 4 items from PROMIS Scale v1.2 – Global Health to the new measure. These items are Global02, Global04, Global05, Global10r. In the Epic PROMIS CAT Application, the record names are:
      • LQL 330000147 (PROMIS GLOBAL MENTAL HEALTH ITEM GLOBAL02)
      • LQL 330000148 (PROMIS GLOBAL MENTAL HEALTH ITEM GLOBAL04)
      • LQL 330000149 (PROMIS GLOBAL MENTAL HEALTH ITEM GLOBAL05)
      • LQL 330000150 (PROMIS GLOBAL MENTAL HEALTH ITEM GLOBAL10R)
    • Add the “scoring question.” This is called LQL 330000313 (PROMIS GLOBAL MENTAL HEALTH ITEMS T-SCORE).
    • Confirm with your MyChart analyst the measure produces a T-score. With the Epic PROMIS CAT Application, this should be automatic. PROMIS Global Mental Health T-scores range from about 20 to 70.
Paper Administration
  • Using paper versions of the PROMIS Global Mental Health for the THA/TKA PRO-PM does not require permission.
